  • “fright”「驚嚇」，為名詞；衍生字 “frighten”「使驚嚇」，為動詞；”frightening”「駭人的」，為形容詞。”die of…” 「因…而亡」是常見用法，如：She died of pneumonia.「她因肺炎而亡。」”live of…”「因…而生/活」在英文實際用法裡幾乎是沒見過，但在這裡和 “die of…” 起了對比的作用。
  • 亨利‧大衛‧梭羅 (1817-1862) 為美國著名哲學家及作家，他的著作 Walden (瓦爾登湖) 描述他獨自居住在瓦爾登湖畔小屋兩年兩個月的省思及思考，而他的論文 Civil Disobedience (論公民的不服從權利) 也影響了後世的甘地、馬丁路德、及托爾斯泰等。
